Social Emotional Consultation for Early Care and Education (ECE)
Free Support for Adults Who Care for Young Children
Every child, family, and provider deserves support before challenges feel too big. Social Emotional Consultation (SEC) is a free, relationship-based service for adults who care for and work with young children from birth to age 5.
Whether you have a specific concern, are feeling overwhelmed, want another perspective, or simply want to strengthen the support surrounding a child, you don’t have to figure it out alone.
Free support. No judgment. No diagnosis. No licensing impact.
What is Social Emotional Consultation?
Social Emotional Consultation connects you with a master’s-level mental health professional with specialized knowledge of infant and early childhood social and emotional development.
Your consultant works alongside you to understand what’s happening, consider what a child or group of children may be communicating, strengthen relationships, and develop practical strategies that fit your child, family, classroom, or program.
Consultation can focus on an individual child or family, a classroom, a team, or an entire program. You do not need to have a specific child concern to reach out.
Who Can Use Social Emotional Consultation?
Free consultation is available to adults who care for and support young children from birth to age 5 including:
- Child care providers and teachers
- Program directors and administrators
- GSRP programs
- Family and home-based child care providers

For families, consultation focuses on concerns related to supporting your child’s social and emotional well-being and successful participation in their child care or early learning environment.
